Sony Introduced Three New Smartphones Xperia XA1 Plus, Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact at IFA 2017

Sony Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact will be available on globally starting from September, while Xperia XA1 Plus will be available in late 2017. The pricing details for all three devices are yet to be revealed by Sony.

Sony has just announced its three new smartphones Xperia XA1 Plus, Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact at the IFA 2017 event in Berlin.

The all three smartphones come with the almost same look and adhere to its OmniBalance design with large bezels above and below the display.

The Xperia XA1 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display and it is powered by 64-bit Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P20 processor paired with ARM Mali T880 GPU. It comes in two variants 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. The storage is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. It is also available in both single and Dual SIM options. The smartphone has a 23MP rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, Hybrid AF, SteadyShot and more, while it has an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, 23mm wide-angle lens and more.

The Sony Xperia XA1 Plus runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS and it is powered by 3,430 mAh battery with Qnovo Adaptive fast charging support. The smartphone also offers 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi 820.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C. It comes in Gold, Black and Blue colors and it weights 190 grams.

On other hands, the Xperia XZ1 Compact comes with a smaller 4.6-inch display with 1280×720 pixels of resolutions featured with TRILUMINOS Display with X-Reality and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. It is powered by 64-bit Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform with 4GB RAM and Adreno 540 GPU. The smartphone runs on runs on Android 8.0 Oreo OS. It comes in only one 64GB internal storage option, which is expandable up to 256GB with the microSD card. The smartphone is also featured with the Fingerprint sensor, DSEE HX, LDAC, Digital Noise Cancelling, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi MIMO, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, NFC and USB 3.1 Type-C.

The smartphone is water and dust resistant and powered by 2,700 mAh battery with Qnovo Adaptive fast charging support. In terms of cameras, it has a 19MP rear camera with Exmos RS sensor, f/2.0 aperture, Predictive capture, 5-axis stabilization. It can record videos in Ultra HD 4K and 960fps slow-motion video. At the front, it comes with an 8MP camera with Exmor R sensor, f/2.4 aperture, 120-degree wide-angle lens and more. The Xperia XZ1 Compact comes in White Silver, Black, Horizon Blue and Twilight Pink colors and it weight 140 grams.

In terms of design and specifications, the Sony Xperia XZ1 matches the Xperia XZ1 Compact. The only difference is it comes with a big 5.2-inch display and available in both single and dual SIM variant, while Xperia XZ1 Compact only supports single SIM. Xperia XZ1 weight slightly more about 155 grams and available in Moonlit Blue, Venus Pink, Warm Silver and Black colors. The rest of the specifications are same to the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact.
