Samsung Galaxy Note 9 which will be next year flagship phablet from Samsung’s Note series and will be upgraded variant of upcoming Galaxy Note 8 which will launch on 23, August.

Now according to KGI report, Samsung will adhere the same rear-mounted fingerprint sensor to its next Galaxy S9 which may introduce in first quarter of next year. However, Samsung is reported to be launch its first device with an On-display fingerprint sensor in the Galaxy Note 9. The report says that Samsung dose not need to risk the quick implementation of the under-the-display fingerprint scanner with upcoming Galaxy S series devices as Apple has reportedly dropped its plans to use it on next iPhone 8.

9to5google quotes, KGI reports “Since OLED iPhone has cancelled under-display fingerprint recognition/touch ID function, and as Galaxy S9 will have the new selling points of upgraded iris recognition and dual camera, Samsung has no need to risk adopting under-display optical fingerprint solution in a hurry.”

KGI added that Samsung will switch from Synaptics to Egis to fingerprint sensors on the Galaxy Note 9. However, this switching technology would increase the cost by 4-5 times.

Samsung and Apple both have not been successful in testing fingerprint sensor under the display in 2017 based on previous report. On the other hand, both Vivo and Sharp have managed to successfully place the fingerprint sensor under the display to their upcoming smartphones Vivo Xplay 7 and Sharp Aquos S2.

The Aquos S2 is going to launch on 8th, August with On-screen Fingerprint Scanner and 5.5-inch Bezel-less display. The Vivo XPlay 7 also appeared with on-screen fingerprint scanner along with triple rear cameras setup recently.
