Now according to KGI report, Samsung will adhere the same rear-mounted fingerprint sensor to its next Galaxy S9 which may introduce in first quarter of next year. However, Samsung is reported to be launch its first device with an On-display fingerprint sensor in the Galaxy Note 9. The report says that Samsung dose not need to risk the quick implementation of the under-the-display fingerprint scanner with upcoming Galaxy S series devices as Apple has reportedly dropped its plans to use it on next iPhone 8.
9to5google quotes, KGI reports “Since OLED iPhone has cancelled under-display fingerprint recognition/touch ID function, and as Galaxy S9 will have the new selling points of upgraded iris recognition and dual camera, Samsung has no need to risk adopting under-display optical fingerprint solution in a hurry.”
