Nokia 8 Gets Android 8.0 Oreo Update with New Features

The Android 8.0 software upgrade brings new features like Picture-in-picture, detailed Notification dots for every app and Autofill passwords. The update also consists November Security patch and faster boot times.

Nokia 8, the flagship smartphone of Nokia has started receiving its Android 8.0 Oreo update first in Europian countries Finland and Poland. The rest of other countries will also get Android 8.0 Oreo update in two days. The India, the Android 8.0 Oreo build rollout begins from Friday night. Nokia 8 had got a beta build of Android 8.0 Oreo last month, a build that users could install via an update over the air after signing up to be a beta tester.

All other Nokia smartphones will also receive Android 8.0 Oreo updates by the end of this year including Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3. Although, recently launched Nokia 2 probably get Android 8.0 update before the year ends too.

After Nokia 8 the Nokia 6 could be the next to get Android 8.0 as Juho Sarvikas HMD Global’s Chief Officer has replied to a user query “When oreo beta will be available for Nokia6” and Juho reply was “just around the corner”.

To recall, Nokia 8 was launched in August with Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
