Nokia 8 Could Unveiled With Android 8.0.0 and Snapdragon 835, GeekBench Listing Suggests

Nokia 8 reappeared on Geekbench with codenamed 'Unknown Heart' suggests that it will be powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset with 4 GB of RAM and run on Google's new Android 8.0 OS.

Nokia’s latest smartphone “Nokia 8” expected to be launched by HMD Global on 16th August. The Nokia 8 has appeared several times on leaks and Geekbench. It has now appeared again on Geekbench with some of its key specs.

The new Nokia 8 listing on Geekbench with code named ‘Unknown Heart’ suggests that it will be powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset with 4 GB of RAM and run on Google’s new Android 8.0 OS. It has scored 1,789 on single-core test and 6,494 on multi-core test.

It is the first smartphone have been spotted on a benchmark site running on Android 8.0.0. However, it is also believed that this could just be a test version to prepare the handset for a software update, the Nokia 8 will be first launched with Android 7.1.1 out of box as previous Geekbench listing suggested and get Android 8.0.0 upgrade soon.

Last year, the LG V20 was the first smartphone launched with running on Android 7.0 out of the box, after Google released that version as an update to its Nexus lineup in August. This year, Google has released its Android O Developer Preview 4 few days ago for Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player and the Android Emulator. So the Nokia 8 is very likely be the first smartphone to ship with Android 8.0.

Last week Nokia 8 was spotted in Romania with its pricing details. The Vodafone Romania has listed the Nokia 8 with price of 517.42 euros (Approx $611 USD).
