Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update Starts Rolling Out For Moto Z Play in India
back in June Motorola started its first Android 7.1.1 Nougat soak test in India. After finishing three soak tests, the company has finally started rolling out stable Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) update in the India recently. The company rolled out Android 7.0 Nougat for the Z Play in February this year.
The Android 7.1.1 Nougat OTA update is 1001.4MB in size and has the Build number NPNS26.118-22. With Android 7.1.1 Nougat update, the smartphone will get a many enhancements including new notifications shade, multitasking features, more efficient notification controls, improved data saver and battery features, and app shortcuts that allow users to perform actions related to the app simply by pressing and holding on their icon. The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for the Moto Z Play also brings the monthly security patch to the smartphone and updates the Moto Mods platform to the version 2.0 as well.
Those who haven’t received a notification for the update can check for availability on Settings > About Phone > System updates, and then if an update is available, download and install.
To recall, Moto Z Play was first launched in October last year in India. It is a dual-SIM support smartphone sports a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. It offers 64GB built-in storage expandable via microSD up to 2TB. It comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, laser autofocus, optical image stabilisation, and dual-LED flash. At front it have a 5-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture and wide-angle lens.
The Connectivity options on the Moto Z include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. keep in mind that there is no 3.5mm headphone jack on the smartphone.
