LG V30 Launched With OLED FullVision Display, Dual Rear Cameras at IFA 2017
At IFA tech trade show in Berlin, LG on today has launched its V30 flagship smartphone with 6-inch QHD + OLED FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio, also supports High Dynamic Range 10 (HDR) content and Always On mode.
LG claims the V30 will “set a new standard in the evolution of premium smartphones.”
LG V30 is a successor of the last year’s V20. The LG’s V-series is known for its ruggedness and the V30 is no different. The V30 is IP68 rated, meaning it’s dust and water resistance to a depth of 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes. It has also passed 14 categories of the MIL-STD 810G Transit Drop Test making it compliant for military operations.
LG V30 is powered by 64-bit Octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and Adreno 540 GPU. It is available in only 64GB of internal storage, which is expandable via a microSD card slot up to 2TB. It has dual rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash, one is 16MP comes with PDAF, laser auto focus, f/1.6-aperture and 71-degree wide-angle lens, while second is 13MP comes with f/1.9 aperture and 120-degree wide-angle lens. The disappointing thing about LG V30 is it has an only 5MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture and 90-degree wide-angle lens.
V30 is powered by 3,300 mAh battery with fast charging support via USB Type-C as well as wireless charging, and it runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box. LG had already confirmed to partnership with B&O PLAY. A set of high-quality B&O PLAY earphones comes bundled with the V30. It also comes with 32-bit Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC powered by ESS Technology’s SABRE ES9218P.
LG V30 will be available first in South Korea starting from 21, September and will be followed other countries like North America, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. LG has also launched Plus variant of V30, which will be available in limited markets and comes in only 128GB storage. The rest of the specifications are same.
V30 also comes with fingerprint sensor at rear underneath the dual camera’s setup. the V30 is 8mm shorter and 3mm narrower than its predecessor, resulting in a more confident grip. With a thickness of only 7.3mm and weight 158 grams, the V30 is the lightest among smartphones in the 6-inch and over category. The tempered glass that covers both the front and back is curved all the way around the edge.
V30 is made equipped with Aluminum alloy and will be available in Aurora Black, Cloud Silver, Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet color options. The pricing details are not revealed by LG as of now.
